Jenny W.
Private tutor in Elk Grove, CA
Education
2013 graduate of Azusa Pacific University, Elementary Education, with a concentration in Spanish, 3.6 GPA. During college I studied abroad in London for one semester, and I participated in a program called Semester at Sea in which I took classes on a ship and the ship ported in 14 countries over the course of three months. This ignited a love of travel and an ever growing need for learning!
Experience
I have 4 years experience as a classroom teacher, and I have been tutoring privately for over 10 years. In this time of Distance Learning, if your student needs additional help understanding their lessons and completing their work, I would be happy to meet on an online platform. Typical sessions are 1-hour, but can be adjusted to your preference. I am well acquainted with current curricula, so instead of pulling your hair out trying to help your student learn from home, please contact me for support! I graduated high school with a 3.8 GPA and I scored 1910 on the SAT. I immediately began challenging myself in college with a full load of 18 units. In college, I loved the option of taking any class that interested me, and there I developed a love for learning, and for teaching! I love helping students understand their school work, and I have wanted to teach since I was in sixth grade. I have taken a number of Spanish classes; Spanish and math have always been my best subjects and I am well-rounded in all basic subjects. Throughout college I worked in elementary classrooms as a requirement of my classes, and was able to teach lessons. I have been privately tutoring since 2010.

Hobbies
I love to travel, because I believe that life experience is equally important to what you can learn in a classroom; they go hand-in-hand. I lived in Puerto Rico for 8 months in 2015 to work on improving my Spanish, and to enjoy the beautiful culture and island! I enjoy playing soccer and volleyball, both of which I played in high school. I have volunteered as a soccer coach for elementary aged kids. I love hanging out with kids and interacting with them. I like reading biographies and mysteries. I also enjoy music. I play the guitar and sang in a choir at APU. Finally, I love tutoring and hope to make it a full-time career one day!
